Q:So this is absolutely free?

A:You bet it is.  We believe in helping the community which has been so good to us over the years.  We are more than happy to help charities and non-profits with their web hosting needs at no cost to them.  Starting with the second year of hosting however, the annual rate is $49.99 per year.  For $49.99 our non-profit customers get the full package that our regular customers pay $99.00 per year to receive.

Q:I don't have a domain name for my organization.  Where can I buy one? 

A:You are welcome to purchase a domain name from any provider you wish.  There are many to choose from including Network Solutions and Register.com.  You are also welcome to purchase one from us at a cost of $9.99 per year.  You can do so at: http://domains.cadynetworks.com  You have to have the domain name to have the web site, and purchasing through us does assist in offsetting the cost of this program.  However, this is not a requirement and organizations are certainly free to purchase from any vendor they choose.

Q:Does Cady Networks also design my web site for me for free?

A:I'm sorry to say that our answer is no.  If we built free sites for every non-profit that needed one, we would be out of business in a short amount of time and would not even be able to offer free web hosting.  How do we know this?  We've tried to do some of this before.  You are welcome to build your own site or have another company build it for you.  

Q:I 'm going to need to take secure transactions online.  Can you help us with that?

A:You bet we can.  This may require the purchase of a secure certificate, which we can provide.  See the chart above for additional information.  Please call or email for current secure certificate pricing.

Q:How can I get technical support for my free account?

A:We have an online web site where you can lookup answers to some of the questions you might have.  This is definitely a do in yourself program.  Additionally, Microsoft Frontpage extensions are installed on the server/s but we provide NO technical support for this product whatsoever.

Q:Can I send email through the account?

A:Unfortunately we have had to discontinue allowing our non-profit customers from using our email server. We will set your account up to forward all email sent to your web site to be redirected to the email account of your choice.  As soon as you become a paying customer you get the full compliment of email services.

Q:What about security? Will my site be secure from hackers?

A:We take every reasonable precaution to protect our network. However, the best hackers routinely hack in to the U.S. government as well as large corporations.  Anyone that tells you that your site can be 100% secure is misleading you.  Most sites will only have to worry about reloading their content after we reset their account. 

Q:How often is my data backed up?

A:We do not backup the data for customers participating in this program.  They are responsible for backing up their own data.  Data backup adds to the cost of web hosting and this program cannot support that service.  The good news is that most folks develop their web sites and store them on their local drive, so usually all that is required is for customers to simply upload their files to their account if any data become lost for any reason.  This would not apply to customers who are storing data in an online database or who have other special requirements.

Q:Our non-profit is not in your state, can we still get an account?

A:You bet. All qualified charities are eligible to have a free web hosting account.

Q:How do I know if my organization is a qualified charity?

A:If your organization is recognized as a 501(c)3 then you are a qualified charity.  We do make exceptions for other qualified organizations on an as needed basis.  Please email or call us for more information.
